PAPER MINDED SERIES: Laser Die Cutting - What We Do!

With our laser services, you are only limited by your imagination! We invite you to take a look behind the scenes of our Laser Department and hopefully inspire you for your next paper project, Save the Date, Wedding Invitations, or business cards!

Laser art has become one of our most popular specialty service that we offer at Paper Presentation!(link) Every day we have customers asking about how we can use laser cutting to create delicate and personalized details to their projects, so we decided to launch this special series of posts!

Our laser cutting has two basic functions: cutting and engraving.

Laser Cutting
photo cred: Wikipedia

Laser cutting utilizes VECTOR ARTWORK (ai, pdf, eps or similar) and an understanding of NEGATIVE space in order to cut thoughtful shapes and details into paper. We also use the laser cutter to create SCORE LINES, which are shallow cuts that will allow us to create precise fold lines on your jobs.

The combination of these two ideas allows us to create more than just flat artwork: we can also create custom boxes and enclosures.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving adds a great finish to any print project. This is obtained with a RASTER image (jpeg, bitmap or similar) and the idea is not to concentrate the laser power on a single point or line, but to etch into the top layer of paper to relieve delicate details without damaging the back of the material.

With our huge selection of card stocks, enclosures, and presentation folders, you can really let your imagination run wild and our Laser Department is here to help you every step of the way!
